CONTAMINATED IRISH PORK - 8 December 2008

Plantation Pigs is registered with The Assured British Pigs scheme and independently audited by Product Authentication Inspectorate Ltd. The feed companies supplying our pig feeds are members of UFAS which is the relevant assurance scheme for the feed compounder. This requires that all raw materials are FEMAS approved. The assurance scheme gives traceability and assurance of feed and all activities in the production of our Free Range Pork. It involves a disciplined and rigorous approach to Quality Control that covers the chain of production of our free range pigs.

Our attitude has always been to deal exclusively with feed compounders that can offer this strict assurance and traceability of the sourcing of all raw materials and manufacture of end product.

Our supplying feed companies have confirmed our feed as having been produced to the correct nutritional parameters and safety standards.

Our compliance with the assurance scheme and that of our suppliers gives confidence in the traceability and provenance of our free range pork.
